Frequently Asked

  • Who is Pilates for?

The beauty of Pilates is that anyone, at any age, can get started. The benefits of Pilates can be experienced in daily life, in all forms of sport, when gardening, and more.

  • Where are the classes?

Group classes are held at various locations. Private instruction can be offered in the convenience of your own home.

  • How do I register?

Use our Book Now button! All new students are required to fill out and pass a Physical Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) prior to beginning any Pilates instruction. The PAR-Q is a way to ensure that you are physically capable for beginning a regular exercise routine. The PAR-Q form will be provided to you by Rachel.

  • How long are Pilates sessions?

Individual and group classes are one hour long. A typical recommended duration is to sign up for a minimum of 6 classes, at least once per week.

  • What should I wear?

No baggy clothes (they get in the way). Pants or shorts are welcome, preferably snug, and barefoot is best - no sneakers required.

  • What should I bring?

Please bring your own water bottle. If you have your own Pilates or yoga mat, you are encouraged to bring it.

  • Do I pay up front?

Payment is due in advance or at start of class. Prices subject to change.

  • How much does private Pilates instruction cost?

    Private Pilates sessions:

    • $55/hour for 1-4 hours
    • $50/hour for 5-11 hours
    • $40/hour for 12+ hours.
  • How do I know if Pilates is right for me?

Talk to Rachel first if you're not sure. You can also try one session before you commit.

  • I heard that Pilates is really hard, is that true?

That depends on your instructor, whether it is a group class or private, what level the class is, your current fitness level, and your expectations for yourself. Some find it challenging on their abdominals at first, but quickly learn to improve and start seeing results.
